Raj Manchanda serves on the ASME staff as the Director, Business Development – Manufacturing and Robotics. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Boston University and a MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business of The City University of New York. He has broad ASME experience gained through roles in Engineering, Education, Standards and Certification Conformity Assessment, and Emerging Technologies. At the start of his ASME career, nearly 25 years ago, he was responsible for engaging the pharmaceutical community with the development of the multidisciplinary Bioprocess Technology Seminars. He also supported experts in the Heat Transfer, Bioengineering, Applied Mechanics and Fluids Engineering Divisions. In the Education directorate Raj built-up the In-Company Training and Self-Study print and digital programs. During his five years in the Conformity Assessment unit of Standards and Certification Raj increased engagement with global manufacturing enterprises interested in ASME product certification and launched a new personnel Certification Program in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. After a brief stint at the American Management Association in which Raj managed the $4mm Project Management and Process Management seminars he returned to ASME to launch the Nanotechnology Institute in 2001 and expanded its scope to Fuel Cells and Biomedical Devices. Raj is currently responsible for new enterprise knowledge product (publications,training, forums, and standards, etc.) development in metal additive manufacturing, digital design and manufacturing, IoT, advanced materials,sensors and robotics in manufacturing engineering. Raj is a member of The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering Advisory Board and MForesight’s Manufacturing Leadership Council.
