As principal solution marketing manager for online monitoring, Brett drives the marketing strategy for National Instruments technology used in monitoring applications in industries such as power generation, oil & gas, mining and heavy equipment, and electrical transmission & distribution. Brett has experience with a variety of topics including machine condition monitoring, smart grid technology, microgrids, power quality, sensors and data acquisition.
Brett has been deeply involved with NI’s Industrial IoT messaging, helping the organization and industry to understand the value engineers can bring to businesses with intelligent, connected, data-centric systems. In January 2017, Brett helped launch the NI Industrial IoT Lab, a dual-purpose space for both demonstration test beds, and providing on-site tours to customers, editors, industry analysts, corporate leadership groups, and fellow NI employees. Predictive maintenance solutions are recognized as a key source of economic value in the Industrial IoT and align well with Brett’s focus on online monitoring technology that’s helping connect operational assets to enterprise networks.
During Brett’s 14 years in marketing, he has presented at numerous technical events, keynotes, test bed panels, authored several byline articles and helped launch multiple test and measurement products. His global role involves constant contact with customers, field sellers, and industry pundits to help tell the story of how platform-based technologies can help scientists and engineers innovate. Brett joined NI in 2003 after graduating with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University.
